07 Aug Back To School 2018
Every year around February we start getting excited about this one special event, Back 2 School. We plan and prepare trusting that God will come through and many families will find relief during the back to school season. We know that getting the materials a student needs for school can put a big dent in a budget that is already very low for many of the families we serve. Many times it comes down to gas in the car or a backpack. Have you ever been there?
Thankfully we serve a great God who brings forth an army of volunteers and sponsors, such as Foundation 4Life, Edgewater High School, Penske, Wawa, and Staples each coming together to show LOVE and COMPASSION for single mother families throughout Central Florida.
On August 4, 2018 at 9:30am the doors of the Edgewater High School auditorium in Central Florida opened and courageous single moms come with their children to receive assistance. They arrive with the intent of getting backpacks full of school supplies for each of their children while open to encouragement, after all our back to school event is; A Morning of Purpose, Taking God Back 2 School.
Our guest speaker Kelvin Curry spoke a great word to bring HOPE to the weary, ENCOURAGEMENT for school, and the LOVE of a caring God. Many came forward to meet Jesus and left not only with backpacks full of school supplies, lunch, and an E.S.T.H.E.R. community outreach bag, but with a heart changed for eternity.
